On Aug. 6, 2011, a Chinook military helicopter carrying a U.S. Navy SEAL team was shot down in Afghanistan’s Wardak province. Thirty Americans lost their lives — 31, if you count Bart, a military working dog.
The X-Project gym in Frederick didn't let new ownership stop it from participating in an event to honor military personnel. Saturday, the gym hosted the 31Heroes Workout of the Day for the third time. The national event was created to honor the lives of 30 service members and a military K-9 who died Aug. 6, 2011, when an Extortion 17 helicopter was downed in Afghanistan.
